Al Jones grew up in the deep south and commissioned into the United States Army as an active duty Armor Officer from the ROTC program at Florida State University, where he also played rugby. After graduating from the Army Reconnaissance Course and serving as a Tank Platoon Leader and an Assistant Professor of Military Science, Al briefly worked at a commercial software firm before being returned to Active Duty through the Ohio National Guard.
